Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

Scope

This policy explains how exiles.build handles information when you browse builds, sign in, publish builds, save imported builds, run gear checks, create reports, or use sharing features.

Do not upload information you consider private. Published builds and shared reports are designed to be viewable by other people.

Data We Collect

When Path of Exile account authorization is enabled, we receive the account profile and character data you authorize Grinding Gear Games to provide. We do not receive your game password, email, stash contents, inventory outside the authorized API response, or trade data.

When you publish a build, we store the build file, build metadata, author name, class, ascendancy, tags, description, versions, download counts, and related processing data.

When you import a build, paste a Path of Building code, upload a .build file, or create a gear check report, we may store the imported build data, reference build, generated recommendations, report artifact, report URL slug, retention policy, and timestamps.

When you use account features, we store data needed for those features, such as favourites, saved imported builds, notifications, build ownership, and creator analytics.

We collect standard technical data such as IP address, user-agent, referrer, requested path, event metadata, and timestamps for security, rate limiting, debugging, abuse prevention, and aggregate analytics.

If analytics or advertising services are enabled, third-party providers may collect or receive cookie identifiers, device identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, approximate location, ad impressions, ad interactions, and other usage events.

How We Use Your Data

We use account authorization to identify your account, associate builds with you, keep you signed in, and protect account-only actions.

We use build data to publish build pages, downloads, search results, comparison targets, version history, and creator-facing analytics.

We use imported build and report data to generate gear, gem, passive, and upgrade comparisons. Shared report links may include enough build information for the report to be useful to anyone who opens the link.

We use technical and event data to operate the service, detect abuse, measure feature usage, investigate errors, and improve recommendations.

If enabled, we use analytics and advertising data to measure traffic, understand product usage, limit repeated ads, show advertising, measure ad performance, prevent ad fraud, and support site monetization.

Public Content

Published builds are public. They may show your author name, avatar, author profile, build file data, descriptions, tags, versions, and derived build details.

Shared comparison reports are accessible to anyone with the report link. Treat report URLs as shareable, not secret. If you post a report link in Discord, Reddit, or another community, that community may keep its own copy or preview.

Public build pages can be used as references for new reports, but shared reports start from a user-provided or saved build.

Service Providers and Links

We do not sell your personal data. We use infrastructure and software providers to host the app, database, storage, queues, logs, and related services. Those providers process data only as needed to operate the service.

Outbound links, including Discord, Steam, YouTube, Path of Exile trade pages, or community sites, are controlled by those third parties and are subject to their own privacy practices.

Some outbound links may include affiliate or tracking parameters. If used, they do not change the price you pay.

Analytics and Advertising

We may use analytics providers such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and may collect information such as page views, session information, device information, approximate location, and interactions with site features.

We may use advertising services such as Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager, Google Ads, Playwire RAMP, or other ad networks and ad technology providers. These providers may use cookies, pixels, web beacons, local storage, IP addresses, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads, measure ads, personalize ads where permitted, prevent fraud, and report performance.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to exiles.build and/or other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites.

If Playwire or another advertising management provider is enabled, that provider and its demand partners may process data for ad delivery, ad measurement, fraud prevention, reporting, and interest-based advertising where permitted.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. Session cookies are configured for account security, including HttpOnly and SameSite protections where applicable.

We may use browser storage for convenience features such as pending imports, filter state, and share flows.

If analytics or ads are enabled, we and our partners may use additional cookies, pixels, web beacons, local storage, or other identifiers for analytics, advertising, ad personalization, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and measurement.

Where required by law, we will ask for consent before using non-essential cookies or local storage for analytics, ads measurement, or personalized advertising. If we serve ads to users in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland through Google products, we expect to use a consent management platform that supports Google's required consent signals.

Your Advertising Choices

You can manage Google personalized ads through Google Ads Settings. You can learn how Google uses data from partner sites at Google's partner sites policy.

You can opt out of some participating companies' interest-based advertising through aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative.

If Playwire is enabled, you can review Playwire's privacy information at playwire.com/playwire-privacy-policy and its opt-out page at playwire.com/opt-out.

Browser settings may let you block or delete cookies. If you delete cookies, change browsers, or use another device, you may need to renew your privacy choices.

Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account remains active or as needed for security, legal, or operational reasons.

Published builds remain available until you delete them, we remove them, or the service no longer retains them. Deleted builds may remain in backups or logs for a limited period.

Anonymous and shared reports are retained according to the retention label shown on the report page. Saved reports may remain until deleted or until the account is removed.

Security, analytics, and server logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for operations, debugging, abuse prevention, and aggregate reporting.

Your Choices

You can sign out at any time. You can delete imported builds and published builds through account controls where available.

You may request account deletion or deletion of associated data by contacting us. We may retain limited records where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, backups, or legitimate operational needs.

If you want a shared report removed, send the report URL so we can identify it.

Regional Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent for certain personal data. You may also have the right to complain to a local data protection authority.

Residents of California and some other US states may have rights to opt out of certain "sales," "sharing," targeted advertising, or profiling. If we enable advertising services that are treated as a sale or sharing under applicable law, we will provide a way to exercise those choices.

Where required, we will honor Global Privacy Control or similar legally recognized opt-out preference signals for the browser or device that sends them.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the service, including session protections, rate limits, origin checks, and restricted infrastructure access. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

exiles.build is intended for users who are old enough to use Path of Exile 2 and online gaming community services in their location. Do not use the service if you are not permitted to do so.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes. The updated date above shows when the page was last changed.
